Frequently Asked Questions

  • No, we do not offer formal AHA certifications for our course. Our course provides the exact same education you would get in a CPR certification course with the added bonus of the Pediatric 101 course. Parents do not need to be certified to save their child's life; they just need to know what to do in the event of an emergency. If you desire a CPR card, please contact us and we would be happy to point you in the right direction with some of our favorite community resources.

  • Our in- person course starts at $149 per person. Factors such as class location and estimated number of participants will affect the final cost of a private course. Please emailinfo@themedicalmamas.care or submit an inquiry form under the “contact” tab for any other questions!

  • Our course covers infant, pediatric and adult CPR and choking as well as a detailed Pediatrics 101 course.

The Pediatric 101 course covers the most common illnesses that bring families into the ER with they babies and also covers things to monitor at home, when to escalate care and provides education on in-home management and support for your little one.

  • Aside from supporting a small business, we genuinely believe you will walk away feeling more educated, equipped and empowered on handling childhood illnesses and medical emergencies. The amount of information we cover in 2.5 hours is more than you'll get at your normal CPR course and the beauty of our course is we come to you and you get to do it with your closest friends and family!

  • Our courses are intended to be taught privately, at home, with your closest friends and family. The intimacy of knowing one another provides a feeling of empowerment to ask the hard questions and to ensure you fully understand a given topic. We will show up to your home (or location of your choosing) with our manikins, clip boards, handouts, pens, etc. and all you have to do is listen, learn and participate!

Quarterly (and sometimes more often), we also host community courses where you can join in on a pre-scheduled course in OC!

At this time, The Medical Mamas is based out of Orange County, CA and are able to travel to the surrounding areas.

We offer virtual Zoom courses as well as will be launching a digital product in early 2026!

  • We genuinely believe that anyone and everyone that is around your child should come to a course. This includes, but is not limited to, parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, neighbors and nannies. The minimum age range that we feel is best appropriate is once they are mature enough to handle the content that we discuss. If you have a young babysitter/babysitting aged child who is interested, we would be happy to discuss this privately with you.

  • Due to high demand and travel time, minimums are in place to ensure the intimacy of a private course. At this time, Orange County has a minimum average requirement of eight (8) guests in a private in-home course. However, there are always exceptions and we are very accommodating to ensure clients are able to host. Please do not let the minimum deter you from reaching out. We look forward to doing our best to accommodate your needs.

  • I’m so honored and excited to hear you’re ready to book!

To complete this process, please click on the “CONTACT” tab and submit an inquiry form with the details of your course desired. A member of my team will be in contact within 48-72 hours and will complete your booking!

I do require a non-refundable $150 deposit for in-home courses and all community / virtual courses are non-refundable within 48 hours of course start time.

  • This business was founded on the idea of bringing life-saving information to families in the comfort of their own home!

Private, in-home courses allow you to fill your safe place with your closest friends and family and give us more freedom to go over time, ask difficult questions and truly cater a course to your specific needs (usually this involves little ones running around)

Community courses provide the same information as private, in-home courses however given the nature of honoring the group, time frames must be met and the course is unable to accommodate children who are not exclusively breast feeding.

  • I like to describe my course structure as being similar to a Tupperware party — except instead of products, you’re learning life-saving skills.

    Private, in-home courses (Southern California):
You gather a group, and I come to you to teach the full course in the comfort of your home.

    Community, in-person courses (Southern California):
I rent a local space and you simply show up! This option is perfect for individuals or families who don’t meet the minimum for a private course.

    Private, virtual courses:
You bring together a group, and I host a customized, interactive virtual course with a more personal, 1:1 feel while covering all course content. You have access to the zoom link to send to your guests (so you don’t all have to be together in 1 room!)

    Community, virtual courses:
You’ll join a virtual room with other attendees where I teach the full course. Due to the group setting, I may not be able to address every individual question.

  • Wow! What an honor that you want to help me expand my mission!

For any employment opportunities, please email shayna@themedicalmamas.care

  • I love sharing organic, raw content that demonstrates my life as a wife, mom and pediatric nurse! If you think your brand would be a good fit, I’d love to chat about my current rates and offerings!

Shoot me an email to collab!

  • I have 2 options for virtual courses!

    1. Host a “private” virtual course where I provide 1:1 zoom services for yourself or a group of your loved ones! This option starts at $500 and can have up to 10 guests present (each additional person is $50).

    2. Join a “community” virtual course where you are in a large online room with a group of other attendees. This option starts at $150/ couple.
